Linguistic cartwheels in the stylings of a rant, these are the thoughts that keep me up at night.

Coleslaw.

Why do diners insist on putting it with all their food. No one eats it. All the little plastic cups end up in a little isle of despair, somewhere between the ketchup and the jelly caddy.

Somewhere, cabbage weeps.

I think the worst lie people tell themselves is how long it takes them to shower.

We've all been there. You're getting ready for something, and you get everything else together, and there's the shower staring you in the face. You need the shower, that much is a given. But it might take too long. No...it won't take too long..you'll just take a quick one. There's no such thing as a quick shower if you consiously tell yourself that there is.

When you step into a shower, you enter an alternate time dimension. Everything outside the shower speeds up. The minute your hair gets wet, somewhere, the forces of time have collided to make you late no matter how fast you try to finish. You get out, and while drying yourself up, casually look up at the clock and realize that four years have gone by while you were rinsing out your shampoo.
